ARTy pARTy
is organised by Central
Singapore Community Development Council, co-organised by TheatreWorks
(S) Ltd, (Education and Outreach) and supported by National
Arts Council, an event of ArtReach.
On 23 Nov (Sat) and 24 Nov (Sun) 2002, from 6.30 pm to 10.30
pm, ARTy pARTy will bring alive visual arts, poetry, music,
dance and drama at and around the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre
and Merlion Park!
Featuring both professional and amateur talents from various
parts of Central Singapore District, come and meet the 14 characters
from the six plays from Play:Write - The Plays Performed, musicians,
singers, dancers, jugglers, poets, potters and more! Follow
them, watch the performances and even juggle on stage if you
dare!
The two evenings of arts celebration will close the nine-day
Singapore River Buskers' Festival with a mass line-dance!

Play:Write
- The Plays Performed is the third part of the creative playwriting
series called Play:Write.
This year, 35 participants learnt
the basics of playwriting from experienced playwrights Robert
Yeo and Lee Chee Keng in July and August. They also wrote short
plays about life in Singapore, one of whom was featured in issue
six of VoiCeS.
Over the two nights in Nov 2002, the following plays will be
performed. Gift by Agnes Law, Broken Butterfly Wings by Elizabeth
Tan, Escape To Heaven by Elizabeth Boon, To Be or Not to Be
by Jack Tan, Separate Lives by Joyce Ang and The Rightful Heir
by Yong Kang. Directed by Jeffrey Tan, designed by set and lighting
designer Paul Wang and dressed by costume designer Vivian Koh,
the plays will star both professional and new actors.
Come to the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre and Merlion Park and party
with us! Expect the unexpected. |
